Moodboard For Dream Chaser

This is our mood board for our thriller video, these images represents the theme of the video.

The crowd - this image shows our location, and its going to be a busy time of day. in our video we have filmed at brent cross shopping centre. our location is similar to the picture above as it was crowed and very busy.

The CCTV - shows one of our camera angles. this angle was at a birds eye view, the colour of the scene is going to be black and white and is going to contain the time and date of the recording, which is going to make it look like a actual recording from an CCTV footage.

Man running with a suitcase - is man on the ran

Teddy bear - one of our props

Handcuffs - indicates a crime scene

Blue sky - shows a quiet atmosphere.

To make this poster we used photoshop we got the picture from google, and changed a few things we made the picture a little brighter and added texts, and we added all that we need on the poster:

  • The title of the film (so people know what film they're auditioning for)
  • The production company name (Third Wing Visuals)
  • The location (were the auditions are going to take part)
  • The requirements (what you need to act in our film opening)
  • Our contact details

To chose the best actors for our film opening we put up this poster, for auditions. We put out posters on several places in school such as the common room and the main corridors and on the library bulletin board. We also put up our poster on Facebook so more people could see it, we also posted it or twitter accounts to draw in more peoples attention.

We got reply's from quite a few people who were very eager to play in our film opening. We narrowed down the actors to about 3 people but unfortunately they were unable to make it to the filming so we had to take care of everything and play parts in the film and also do the recording at the same time.

Third Wing Visuals

Me and my group got together and decided our company name is going to be called Third Wing Visuals. We worked together to make a opening credit for our company. We constructed two different opening credits using 'Adobe After Effects'.

One member of the group created the text. He tried different fonts & colours but in this credit we decided the white text went well with the dark shady image behind it. We got an image from Google of an angel, we felt an angel would go well with our company name; as an angel also has wings. We worked together to get the final edits with the contrast and brightness, it was a lot of hard work but we managed to work as a team & pull it of.

This is our second attempt to create an opening credit for our company.

  • We used simple colours that clash well together. We decided to have a red background with white text. As a group we felt that these colours are more suitable for our target audience (12A).
  • We made the text bounce into place making it more enjoyable for our audience to view. The text is in a big clear font allowing it to stand out.
  • We want the production company name to be the first thing that catches the audience. Our first attempt of creating our opening credit is good but we felt that the background image may of took away the main attention of our company name.

Certificate Age Rating (BBFC)

These are the certificate ratings for films that are published in the cinema & on DVD. These help the audience know what to expect from the movie, the older the age rating the more inappropriate for children the movie is.

I did some research on films similar to the thriller opening me and my group are working on. This research helped me decide on what age certificate my opening thriller should be given.

Fugitive - PG, this means the movie hasn't got much disturbing scenes and is suitable for anyone with parental guidance up to the age of thirteen.

The Dark Knight - 12A, this film is suitable from anyone that's aged twelve plus, but parental guidance will be needed if the viewer is aged twelve.

We have decided that our film will be a 12A as we feel parental guidance will be appropriate to watch the film. If we made the age certificate a 15 we would attract a smaller audience as not everybody will be able to gain access to watch it. By making it a 12A we are able to target a wider audience allowing sales to be larger.

Our film 'Dream Chaser' will have some harsh scenes which will include a form of torture, this scene is definitely not suitable for an audience under the age of 12. We want to make certain scenes slightly gothic, through the behavior that the secret agency carries out. All these scenes will be shown in minimal detail to the audience; keeping it visually unclear what's going on. This is going to be done to keep the criteria of the 12A certificate rating in line with our movie.

Our film doesn't involve drugs, sex, nudity or foul language & we feel that our film fits the criteria for a 12A movie perfectly. Despite a torture scene that is kept in minimal detail, our film doesn't break the criteria of being a 12A film. As a group we have officially decided that our film will be a 12A.
